Our Local Academy Committee

Those who volunteer to be on the Local Academy Committee are volunteers who want to make a positive contribution to the school. There are members of the church, community, staff and parents who work together to support the school. There are termly meetings and regular visits where the committee are a critical friend and offer support, advice and provide accountability. 

They monitor the following areas:  Safeguarding, Premises, Staffing and Recruitment, Admissions, Curriculum, Community and the Headteacher's Performance Management.  The LAC may also be called upon to attend hearings and appeals.  Other areas where the LAC may support the school include GDPR, website and policies.

The Local Academy Committee works under the umbrella of the Elveden Schools Trust Board who are also responsible for Finance, Audit and Risk as well as Standards and Ethos.
